I had the honor of hearing John Lewis deliver the Kuyper Prize lecture this evening.
“A lot of people ask me if a Civil Rights Movement like what happened fifty years ago could happen again. And I say, ‘yes!’ …I ask the Church: where is your voice? Where is your righteousness? …When I was a little boy and I saw the signs that said ‘Whites Only’ I asked my parents why but they said ‘Don’t get in the way.’ But I was inspired by my faith to get in the way. It’s time for the people of God to get in trouble.”
